Personality:

Ok people the first thing everyone needs to know is this! Kaede is a hero!! Well at least that’s how he sees him self. He views him self as a one man army hell bent on protecting those who can’t protect themselves, a light against the darkness, a fighter of the wicked and gods gift to woman kind all rolled up into one astounding bundle! As you can probably guess this man has no lack of self confidence, in fact he nearly oozes the stuff (GROSS >.>)!! Its actually gotten sooo bad that others around him start to feel the effects….Hell the most depressed self loathing kid starts to actually feel GOOD about them selves just with the guy near by! He claims it’s a talent (I say it’s a disease!) that he’s cultivated over the years….Most people say he’s full of shit.

The second thing you need to know is actually rather simple!! Dancing equals life! At least for an extrovert like Kaede, the dance is a metaphor for his life, the way he chooses to live it, and how he reacts to others. He moves through his life with fluidity, reacting and acting in time with music only he can hear. This makes him an odd individual to watch because he always seems to be moving, even when standing perfectly still.

The third thing you must know is this! Kaede is…a little out there. IF he was rich people would call him eccentric, but since he’s not people have been known at time to call the poor man crazy! This may not be entirely unfounded words considering his odd habit of striping at the most inopportune times, but that’s the limit! He’s not unstable or insane….He just has a unique way of looking at the world, and some rather awkward mannerisms that make it hard to function in polite society.

The last thing everyone needs to know is this and it may be the most important, everything he does he does out of love! Whether for his nation, his friends, or oddest of all that random feeling of attachment you some times feel for that random stranger on the street. This love is what drives him, fuels him, and makes him who and what he is! Now that isn’t to say he loves EVERYONE but it’s a close thing. He can feel kinship with just about any person he meets no matter their occupation, social standing or culture.

Likes: Dancing, Any type of music, Polls(Dont ask), The word"Pudding" or "puddin", Tasers, Swords, Super Hero's like the Punisher and Batman, Justice, Honor, Love, Doughnuts, Squishy things, Anime and cartoons(A guilty pleasure), A nice cool breeze, the color yellow, Law, Karaoke, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex and did i fail to mention sex?

Ok so when some one says super hero, the first thing your likely to imagine is a man(Or woman) Wearing tight spandex, a cap, and have their underwear on the outside, who’s features are unmarked by blemishes or scars(Which is remarkable considering how much punishment they must take). Well im happy to say Kaede doesn’t hold to this stereotype!! In fact he isn’t even a superhero (Though don’t tell him that…he’s likely to get upset) he’s your average six foot eleven Japanese man.

Ok I guess average is a misnomer; there are few things average about him. From his blind right eye, to the bells he habitually wears in his hair he defiantly makes an odd sight as he strides down the street, a ready smile on his face and a sparkle in his good eye. The cloths he wears(When he can manage to keep them on) on any given day depends entirely on what hes doing, if hes working well hes wearing his uniform and katana, if its just the average day he could be wearing any number of things from a sweats to three piece suit or even if the mood strikes him hakama.

Now most people would expect a man of his stature to be a man of serious demeanor, but by and large there couldn’t be anything farther from the truth. The timber of his voice is soft, sweet and joking. His walk is relaxed, springy and full of energy. All in all hes not nearly as intimidating as he could be most of the time, and most find him rather pleasing to be around.

History:

Ahh the beginnings of this hero where rather ordinary, he was conceived one humid summers day by a father and a mother who where vary much in love(Well that’s what the booze told them any ways). Not long after this spontaneous bout of love making Kaede was born! It may have been the fact that they had wanted a girl instead of a boy, or it could have been the fact that they where angry at the child for daring to be conceived but they decided to name HIM Kaede after their favorite tree…..The maple tree…..They thought it would break him!! But luckily his parents where wrong, his feminine name made him stronger then he would have been with out it! In fact as a young kid his name was the terror of the play ground, in fact to this day kids at his grammar school still whisper of the legendary ”Kaede Shino” the maple tree of death…

Now I don’t want you to get the wrong impression, his parents never abused him, he never lacked their love, hell he had way to much love heaped upon him at times. It was kinda stifling all things told, it was as if they where trying to make up for the name they had given him….For what ever reason giving their only child a joke of a name seemed to weigh heavily on there conscience…and id be lying if I said Kaede never took advantage of that fact. But thanks to his loving home, a school full of friends, and good role models Kaede became a basically “Good kid” and never got into any sort of serious trouble.

As he entered high school shit started to hit the fan like it usually does, he fell in with bad crowds, got into more then his share of trouble, went from straight A’s to B’s and C’s and all in all made an ass of him self. He used his size to intimidate both his peers and his teachers and sadly he got away with it. All in all it was your basic story of teenage rebellion, full of angst, anger and hormones. It was a time of discovery and exploration for the young man, a time where self identity starts to firm up and you become more then a student, a child, a brother, it was the time when you become a person in full.

After he graduated he thought about going to university, hell he even managed to get accepted to one. But in the end his attachment to his friends and family made him stay home and live his life in the city he had grown up in. He found work doing odd jobs around town until he finally fell in with the local Yakuza as a muscle man. This went on for a few years until the night he lost his eye. It wasn’t as traumatic an experience as most people would think, he got into a fight and the other combatant (Who happened to be a woman) had gouged out one of his eyes.

Though out all this he studied the magic he came to love, and eventually joined the guild his friend now lead. Though by this time Ran had far out paced him as far as magic was concerned, Kaede didn't mind because in the end Ran was a man... Until he proved otherwise.
